Switch on 2011 - what a great night, again! 
17 years this traditional event has been in existence.

local Band.....Slinky Peach and pianist/comedian Colin "Fingers" Henry provided great entertainment.  Feedback has been excellent.  Well done Committee Members for all your hard work to ensure the night went ahead!

PONDLIGHTS SWITCH-ON 2008 Despite the rain and the cold, hardy villagers and friends supported this year’s event with great gusto! Twinkling glowsticks lit the way for the Children’s Procession following Father Christmas from the School to the Pond. Mark Gregory, our local celebrity compere (well, he’s well-known down our road anyway!) kept proceedings on track, ensuring Father Christmas chatted to as many children as possible, handing out lollipops (kindly donated by Westwoodside Stores) before flying home in time to feed the reindeers. South Axholme School Band, supported by a small choir, helped keep us all in key and created a magical atmosphere.

 Our novice mulled winemakers did us proud and received many compliments.  Tasty fayre from the Hot Pork sandwiches tent, Barbeque and not forgetting the mince pies, kept tummies warm and full. The traditional countdown to switch-on, was followed by a fantastic firework finale.

SUMMER EVENT - SAT 14TH JUNE 2008

Thank you to everyone who came and enjoyed local band "WROOTED" and Comedian, Matt Black* at WWS Village Hall. 

Feedback has been excellent and the funds raised will ensure that we can look forward to our Annual Christmas Lights switch-on in December ....watch this space!

 PONDLIGHTS DISCO Sat 26th Jan 2008  7.30 p.m.

Thank you to everyone who supported the Pond Lights Disco at Westwoodside Village Hall.

Attendance was not as good as we have seen on previous events...it is only with funds raised via these events that the Annual Pond Lights Switch-On can take place.  

PONDLIGHTS SWITCH-ON 7TH DEC 2007

Thank you to everyone who supported another successful event.  Thankfully by the time the evening came the strong winds had died down - it had been great fun trying to hang the decorations and erect the food tents earlier in the day!

Father Christmas leading the procession from Westwoodside School, carol singing, mulled wine and mince pies, not forgetting the fireworks and the traditional Pond Lights Switch-On made for a very warm and friendly evening - something this village should be so proud of!
